Brooklands Hotel Weybridge Launching March 2010Article Summary: Brooklands Hotel Weybridge is a hugely contemporary design statement of a property, inside and out, yet positioned on top of one of the most historical landmarks in the whole of the UK and embracing a classical motor-racing history and setting that is second to none; from the moment you drive up to the valet point and then enter this remarkable new 4-story glass building, it is clear that the interior design of the new Brooklands Hotel observes and is impressively influenced by detail typical of the period and abercrombie soldes by those who were prolific and influential of style at the time.

Brooklands Hotel Weybridge is a hugely contemporary design statement of a property, inside and out, yet positioned on top of one of the most historical landmarks in the barbour france paris whole of the UK and embracing a classical motor-racing history and setting that hollister france is second to none; from the moment you drive up to the valet point hollister and then enter this remarkable new 4-story glass building, it is clear that the interior design of the new Brooklands Hotel observes and is impressively influenced by detail typical of the period and by those who were prolific and influential of style at the time. Working with world-renowned interior designers Trevillion, the hotel has been designed with a clever, knowing nod to the rich legacy of the race circuit that surrounds the hotel, and rich leathers, colours, carpets and fabrics, many of which are inspired by the 1930s era, permeate throughout the property.
From the demarcation in the entrance foyer of the "Solomon Straight" which rolls out before you in riven quartz and honed granite, to the glittering "honeycomb" 1930's inspired pendants behind reception, it is impossible to miss the fact that the spirit and history so relevant to the site has been carefully woven into the developing story of the new Brooklands Hotel. Renowned early 20th century designers Eileen Gray and Le Corbusier each has established and identifiable details so frequently used in their iconic pieces and there is evidence of both throughout the hotel. The button detail on the Van Der Rohe Barcelona chair (originally designed for the King and Queen of Spa on occasion of their official visit to the Barcelona World Exposition in 1929) has also inspired the tomato red, suede paneling behind the reception, and has been adapted and exaggerated to create the impressive detailed stitching and luxurious leather upholstery. This over sizing of detail is also an influence in the design of the display unit to the barbour deutschland rear of reception taking inspiration from the "rocket" style display cabinet - so recognisable of the period - that sits majestically behind the impressive and luxurious reception desk.
Moving further into the hotel, totally different from other Surrey Hotels and taking centre stage and cutting a theatrical stance, the oversized bar delivers a dramatic presence In typical "Eileen Grey" style, with long channels of hide covering the front of the bar facia (which includes a comfortable arm rest in true traditional form). Sweep up and over the ceiling it creates a canopy, which barbour pas cher soldes evokes the splendid interior of a classic car. Other examples where the influences can be seen include hogan outlet the use of Madagascar ebony wood in the bedrooms, red light fittings based on old fashioned wheel hubs and polished chrome on the bedside cabinets.
Charcoal, ebony and taupe with top tones of eau de nil, tomato red, aubergine and copper create the colour palette for the entire project. The narrow use of colour delivers a co-ordinated schematic feel throughout the building yet the percentage use of any one colour subtly defines and differentiates each moncler outlet space. Furnishings, joinery and finishes have also been selected and developed with a "nod" to the art deco period. As noted above, Madagascar ebony, Shargreen, Oak, and Polished Chrome appear repeatedly throughout the extensive joinery package. Subtle references to the Art deco period are further delivered by the presence of concentric and repetitive pattern that, for example, can be visible in the carpets of the meeting and events area.
The centre piece wood sculpture in the hotel lobby has also been heavily been influenced by the motor-racing setting. Suspended above the atrium and further expressing the unique nature of the site, this Charlie Whinney bespoke sculpture of bent wood sweeps overhead intimating the speeding cars around the uniquely banked racing track. Either side, two oversized three tiered pendants based on a wheel construction deliver a practical lighting solution to the impressive height and reinforce the symmetry of the building. The visual impact of these pendants from the outside is appreciated from afar and showcases the unique bespoke sculpture hovering behind. Oak wood from a sustainable source has been selected for the peuterey sito ufficiale artistic installation for its contrasting colour against the joinery surrounding it and for jordan pas cher its visible grain, which suggests movement and speed. Lighter sections of louboutin naturally present sapwood indicate the lesser worn areas of the track whilst the wild grain and darker sections intimate the giuseppe zanotti pas cher oil and wear all so visible and apparent on an actual track. Overall the installation is a testimony to the unique and historic importance of the site and solidifies the relevance and connection to the Solomon straight that lies indicated below it. To use the words of Charlie Whinney himself "I wanted to show the flowing lines and competition of motor racing in a new way - this was done by depicting the route of the cars as several strands racing each other, abercrombie milano twisting and flowing as they jostle for position on the track."
Of all Weybridge Hotels the architecture of the hotel itself has also been hugely influenced in relation to its setting. By Carey Jones, it presents a highly distinct image, which has been designed to echo - in a language that is very much 21st century - the architectural styles associated with the heyday of the Brooklands circuit. These styles are Modernism and Art Deco, and they share an expression of movement in the built form and a strong emphasis of both the horizontal and vertical plane as a distillation of forms in the natural world.
